Hi! If you've got any comments or criticisms about the way I'm playing Milly, please let me know here!

Anon is enabled and IP logging is off. ♥
stungunning: (well this is just lovely)
Action!

[During the morning, Milly is out and about, safely and warmly bundled up in the snow and pulling a wheelbarrow along with an equally bundled up baby Noah strapped to her front. In her wheelbarrow she has a pair of pruning shears, a small handsaw, a blue plastic tarpaulin and a few balls of string, and she is clearly a lady on a mission.

A decorative mission.

That's right Luceti, Milly Wolfwood is on a mission to find a Christmas Tree and is taking no prisoners! Feel free to stop and say hello.

When she's back home and Noah's napping, she'll be trying to wrangle the Christmas Tree into place and attempting to dodge Kuroneko and Donut who seem to have been entranced by the decorations.]

Goodness, I can't believe it's so late in the year already, it seems like we've only just had spring after all! Before we know it Christmas will be all over and done with and we'll be looking at the New Year. I know a lot of people have probably had a very tricky year and perhaps a lot of horrible things might have happened, but you know, I can't believe that it could possibly be all bad.

Does anybody feel like sharing their high and low points of the year?

Hello everyone, I was wondering if you could help me with an experiment? You see we're about to start our little boy Noah on real food and I was wondering if anybody had any good recipes for tasty soft foods that might help make him take to real food easier than just pureed vegetables and fruits and things like that. I can't help but think that proper food would be a lot more appetising, and it'd sure save me some time when it comes to cooking for the whole house if we're all having the same thing!

[She sighs, sounding a little wistful.]

I can't believe he's five months old already, it just doesn't seem like enough time's gone by for him to be that big, but at the same time it seems like he's been here forever, I think've almost forgotten what life was like before I was a mama. Ooh, that's a good question!

Tell me Luceti, what's the best thing that's happened to you while you've been here that you wouldn't change for anything?
stungunning: (Mr. Priest you're still not dead!)
-can you smile for Momma? Can you? Oh that's a beautiful smile, now hold it-

[You are being treated to a quick snap of baby Noah Wolfwood, now eight weeks old, smiling at the camera and looking generally adorable with his little tufts of jet black hair and big blue eyes. The sound of the baby cooing happily can also be easily heard, as can the sound of him being kissed noisily by his doting mother.]

I just can't believe he's already eight weeks old, it seems to have gone by so fast which is funny when I haven't slept through an awful lot of it but that's all changing now because Mr. Noah here is finally learning that Momma and Daddy need to sleep at night too so they can play with him properly, aren't you bubba? And he's getting so big! he can't fit into any of the things he had when we first brought him home, it's a shame really because a lot of them were awfully cute, but we just have to go out and get him more and hope he doesn't grow out of them too fast.

[Yet more kissing and happy cooing.]

Anyway! It looks like there's an awful lot of New Feathers arriving again so I just wanted to say hello and welcome to Luceti, and I hope you won't be too upset about being here. I know it's a terrible shock to arrive here all alone and with wings of all things, and a lot of strange and sometimes scary things can happen, but there are also a lot of very good things and wonderful, kind people here, so please don't be afraid to make the best of it.

Action

[Milly and Noah are going to be out and about shopping with the pram, stop and say hi... and be prepared to have your ear talked off because Milly's just about the proudest and most talkative new mother you'll ever meet.]
stungunning: (dear mom and dad and big big brother...)
Action

[Milly is... positively elephantine in size, everything aches, she gets exhausted after the very slightest bit of exercise and it seems as though she has a bladder the size of a walnut that her baby finds incredibly comfy because she just cannot get comfortable without having to get up and use the bathroom two minutes later. And that is without all the false alarms and Braxton Hicks contractions she's been suffering for the last week. At the back of her mind, she's grateful that it's not been for very long at all, but even so she's uncomfortable and impatiently excited to meet her daughter or son and finally see her feet again.

And the house just cannot be clean enough for her tastes. Milly is cleaning like a woman on a mission. In between checking and double checking the nursery, trying to knit booties- and failing- and napping, she's going crazy with a feather duster and vacuum. Watch out, Trigun house.

She is on her hands and knees scrubbing the skirting boards... question is: will she ever be able to get up again?]

Voice

Alright! Spicy food hasn't worked, long walks haven't worked, and jumping up and down is really really uncomfortable so I don't want to try that unless I absolutely have to, but I'm beginning to go crazy waiting and there's only so much cleaning I can do before I need to take a nap.

I don't suppose any mothers out there know any sure fire ways to get a baby coming? Because I'm just about ready to have mine now and Muffin is showing no signs of moving at all. I'm at my wits' end!
stungunning: (look at these puppy dog eyes)
Action:

[Earlier today, Milly's been waddling around Luceti to get some exercise. She looks about 27 weeks pregnant now and is sporting a noticeable bump. With about one month left to go, she's decided to do some shopping for baby clothes and some more things for her; with how quickly everything's going it seems like her clothing doesn't last longer than five minutes before she has to go and get something bigger. There's still big things like a cradle and a changing table to get ready before the baby arrives, but that's not something she's doing today. Today is about teeny tiny little pairs of socks in a myriad of pastel colours and little onesies with snap fasteners.

Later, when she's all shopped out and weighed down with baby clothes, she'll be taking a quick breather on a bench with an enormous bag of warm sausage rolls from the bakery, which she will be proceeding to eat as a power-snack before returning to Trigun House, where she makes a journal entry.]

Voice:

You know what I would really, really like right now? A really big, giant baked potato with lots of butter and covered in melty cheese with bacon bits. And even though something like that is always best served with two cups of pudding afterwards, I just can't bring myself to eat it right now, the smell makes me feel dreadfully sick to my stomach, and it's the saddest thing in the world because I have all these pudding cups getting closer and closer to their expiration date and nobody in the house eats pudding the way I do, so they're going to all go to waste. It's a terrible shame.

Oh, that's a good idea! I will give all those pudding cups away to a good home if anybody wants them. You just have to promise me that you'll eat them responsibly and not waste a single bite. There's nothing worse than wasting pudding.

[Is that a wobble in her voice? Yes it is. Giving away all that lovely pudding that she desperately wants to eat but can't without feeling sick is just about one of the saddest things she's ever had to do. She's quietly terrified that this temporary pudding issue might wind up being permanent.]

I think I might just have a few donuts. And maybe put some bitter caramel sauce on my potato. Does anybody know how to make bitter caramel sauce? And it's not dangerous to eat donuts with hot sauce, is it?

stungunning: (oh hey there!)
[The Milly who is making this post sounds a lot happier and healthier than the stuffed up Milly who last wrote on the journals, and also pretty content in general now that the whole messy business with Wolfwood being messed about with the Malnosso has been cleared up.]

Hello Luceti and hello especially to all the New Feathers! I know how scary it must be to arrive here and not have a clue about what's going on but I promise you everything's going to be okay. You just need to be extra specially careful and look after yourself and your friends, and everything should turn out to be a-okay in the end. And if you don't know anybody here then don't worry, you can always come and talk to me if you like. My name's Milly Wolfwood and today it's been one whole year since I arrived in Luceti.

At first I thought it was all a very strange dream, because I came from a place where we don't have many trees or even seasons like we do here, but when I realised it wasn't I was a little bit confused, and it was especially confusing for me because the person who actually convinced me it was really happening was somebody I didn't think I would ever get the chance to see again, so I suppose I should really thank the Malnosso for bringing me here so I could see him again.

[She's quiet for a little bit, smiling to herself.]

So that's one thing you should remember about being here: no matter how bad it might seem, there is always something good that can come out of it. I suppose I'm really lucky that I had my friends here to greet me, and even though my best friend Meryl isn't here anymore and she's gone back home... there's always something to make you want to keep your chin up and look forward. And I have a lot to look forward to right now, I'm really a very lucky person. I've made wonderful new friends, I found my special someone when I never thought I would get to speak to him ever again, and then we got married last year and now...

[Oh what the heck, she can't help herself here, she's going to laugh because she's really so happy she can't contain herself.]

Now we're going to have a baby!

stungunning: (well this just isn't my day at all)
Hello everybody, I was wondering if-

[Your usually cheerful broadcast from Milly is interrupted by a sudden burst of coughing and spluttering, and come to think of it, she sounds a fair bit croakier and stuffed up than she usually does.]

Excuse me. I was wondering if anybody's got any remedies for a terrible co-

[There she goes again.]

Cold. I hiccuped myself into a pond and I think made myself sick, and I've got far too many things to be getting on with- achoo!- to waste time being sick.

[Understatement of the century, it sounds like, as she's suddenly coughing and spluttering again.]

...my head hurts.

[Action]

[After spending most of the festive season bundled up in a Malnosso cell, Milly Wolfwood is exceedingly happy to reappear into the light of day again. She's been worried, naturally, about her friends and her husband and the fact that she missed Christmas of all things, but now... now she's back.

And she has a terrible case of the hiccups.

...a terrible case of the hiccups which seems to be teleporting her all over the place. She'll be perfectly fine one moment, then she will hiccup and find herself inexplicably in the middle of someone's dinner table or up a tree or even, heaven forbid, on top of some poor unsuspecting person and squishing them flat because, let's face it, Milly isn't known as big girl for nothing.

Eventually though, she'll find her way back home where she just wants to curl up in her bed and wait for Wolfwood to come home, or at least sit in the kitchen and have a nice cup of cocoa with her friends.]

[Voice]

Could someone tell me what day it is? I think I've been away for a very long time and I've gone and lost track of mysehic!

[There's an audible rustle and snapping of twigs and a little 'oof' of surprise. Milly has just hiccuped herself into a bush.]

Eh-heh... oh dear.
stungunning: (you bet your bottom double dollar i will)
[The new Mrs. Milly Wolfwood is having the most fabulous day. It started when she woke up, surprised her new husband with breakfast in bed and after some after breakfast snuggling, whilst doing the washing up she happened to look out of the window and the squeal extremely happily as she notices that it. Is.

SNOWING

And now, after a quick dash upstairs to grab another sweater, smooch her husband again, she's gone outside in a coat to go out and run around in the snow as the flakes start to flutter around. Why didn't she get out and play in the snow yesterday?

...she's a newlywed. Why do you think. ;D

So she will be outside, playing in the snow and having a lovely time until the snow flurries stop until she rushes back inside to warm up again. And make a broadcast.]

Hello Luceti!

Have you seen? It's snowing! Isn't it pretty? I just went outside in it, it's like somebody's taken a great big sugar sprinkler and dusted powdered sugar over everything, it's so lovely.

Oh, and we've got lots of new feathers arriving now, haven't we? Welcome to Luceti! I know how it can be scary at first, finding yourself in a new place with wings and not knowing what happened, but please don't be afraid to ask people around here to help, there are lots of people here who are going to be happy to give you any help you might need.

My name's Milly Tho-

[And now she laughs a little because she remembers that that's not her name anymore.]

Sorry. My name is Milly Wolfwood, and I'm looking forward to meeting you.

I'm really sorry to have to write this, because it's rather sad news, but Miss Rem has had to go back home.

Has anybody seen Mr. Vash? We can't find him, and I'm starting to get a little worried. He shouldn't be alone right now.

I just don't know what to do. Meryl's so much better at this than I am.

stungunning: (um funny you should mention that)
[Action]

[Milly's out in the garden, covered in dirt and digging out a vegetable patch. Her face is smeared with mud and there's dirt under her nails, but she seems to be very happy otherwise if you happen to come across her.

What is she doing? Apparently, she is gardening.

Everyone's been so sad lately. Meryl's still missing, and she knows that Mr. Vash is just as worried about it as she is. Mr. Sanji-chan has gone and she knows that his friends are upset about it, and Mr. Priest goes very quiet when she asks about him, and she knows that a lot of people seem to fall away from Luceti like how the leaves are falling from the trees, and there's nothing she can do to stop it.

Milly Thompson, however, is a determined girl, and she's not about to let the reminded uncertainty of life here wear her down. So she is channeling her energies into making something nice, and to give people something to look forward to.

Later on, she'll be out in town to buy some lumber and some paint, and run some errands. Why don't you stop to say hello?]

[Voice]

Hello Luceti! I'm wondering if you could give me some advice; I'm trying to start up a vegetable patch in our garden so we can have some of our own veggies next year, but I'm a bit of a beginner when it comes to growing things. Does anyone know what sort of plants do best when you plant them at this time of year, and are easy to look after?

[She waits for a little bit.]

And I'd just like to say... to everyone who's lost a friend recently, or who's missing somebody... please look after yourself. I know it's very, very easy to be sad, and you don't really feel like you want to be happy, but my mother once said to me "Milly Thompson, if you don't wear a smile at least once every day, you'll make somebody very sad because you won't be sharing your smile with them," so... try to do that because you never know, if your smile makes just one other person smile then it's a good thing, and it might just make you start to feel happy again.

[Gosh, where did all that come from? She coughs a little.]

Um... that's all I wanted to say. Really. Have a nice day!
stungunning: (Milly Thompson seal of approval)
[There's a lot of mewling in the background like the sound of thirteen new born hungry kittens before a very cheerful voice starts her plea.]

Hello Luceti, I hope everyone's doing well with all this lovely warm weather. Oh, and hello to all the new feathers who've arrived recently! My name's Milly Thompson, I've been here for... um... four months now! ...gosh has it really been four months?

[Pause. It looks like the Milly Thompson Thought Train Express has been derailed temporarily... Oh wait, it's back on track!]

Anyway I have a very special request and I'm looking for thirteen very special families to help give homes to our cat Kuroneko's babies. Now they're all very little right now and it's going to be a few weeks until they're old enough to leave their mother, but if anyone would like to give a home to Orenjineko, Sooty, Buttons, Buckles, Zippers, Gunpowder, Spaghetti, Donut, Pudding, Tomas, Bernardelli, Double Dollar or Geranium then please let me know! Now, they're too little now for us to know if they're boy kittens or girl kittens, but they're very sweet and we want them to go to very nice new homes with families who'll love them and look after them. Their mother's very adventurous though, so they'll probably grow up to be very independent cats. But if you're interested in having a kitten, please let me know! Or if you know Meryl or Mr. Priest or Mr. Vash or Miss Amelia or Miss Rem then you can always mention it to one of them.

Anyway! I hope you're all having a nice day, and if you could please look in your hearts to see if there's room in there for a kitten that would be just wonderful.

Do you think I need to say anything else?

...Nyao.

[That voice is unmistakably Kuroneko's.]

Thank you!

[ooc: as of Vash's reminder, the post is filtered from Legato]
stungunning: (dear mom and dad and big big brother...)
Hello Luceti! I hope everyone's feeling well and you've all been enjoying the weather lately; it was so hot last week it almost felt like being back home.

[There's a little pause- despite how lovely some parts of Luceti are, she can't help but feel a little bit... homesick sometimes.]

Oh! And that reminds me, do you know I've been here for a few months now and I still can't find a post box or a post office to send my letters? I've got very behind on sending out my Milly Monthlies and I'm sure that my parents and all my brothers and sisters will be starting to wonder where I've got to at this rate, and I've got so many things to tell them about. And... um... I was wondering if someone might be able to recommend a good lady doctor. It's just awful that I've lived here for so long and I haven't even introduced myself to a doctor, and it's very important to have a good relationship with your physician, that's what my mother always told me when I was a little girl and she always has the very best advice. I'd be very very grateful if anyone could point me in the direction of someone nice to be my doctor.

I think that's everything... oh yes, does anyone know of any good cookery books with some yummy recipes in them? My goal this month is to learn how to cook better.

[Action]

[Later on in the day, Milly will be out and about, looking high and low for a post box or just enjoying the day, or especially looking for cook books. Feel free to come and bother her!]
stungunning: (MILLY SMASH)
[There's the sound of someone gasping. Her voice is shaky, she's out of breath, and she is audibly distraught.]

 HELP! SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE!

Please, please you've got to- someone-

They've taken him- we couldn't stop them, I don't-

Help! Help me please!

Please help, I'm begging you, anyone, help!

[She's quiet for a moment, still fighting for her breath. When she speaks again, her voice is tiny and shaky.]

I just got him back...

[Action]

[Anyone around the edge of the village near the forest might see a tall, dishevelled looking woman in a sundress smeared with mud and grass stains and with a small amount of blood caked in her hair frantically trying to make her way back to her apartment building or trying to get people to come and help her.

She was out for lunch with Wolfwood when they were ambushed by Malnosso droids. She was knocked out and the robots made off with her sweetheart in the meantime.

Milly is a woman on the edge and not even pudding will stop her.]

stungunning: (Hmm?)
Hello everyone! I am on a very important mission and I think that I might need some help. Because it's getting warmer and we've had a lot of rain, I think now is the very best time for me to ask this question, because I'm going to need to act very, very soon. And I was doing some reading, because my Big Big Sister says that if you're going to learn to do something you need to be well informed about the theory behind it, and so I got a book out from the library and it says that if I'm going to do it then the first thing I need to do is find something.

But I've never actually-

[Pause. How exactly do you go about asking this sort of question? OK, here goes.]

I need to know where to find my one piece.

Will someone help me find it? I hear that there's a grand line with all sorts of wonderful colours and things but I really don't know the first thing about looking because, well, we just don't have any of that sort of thing back where I come from! So if someone could help me to look that would be wonderful.

[Another pause.]

Oh, and hello new feathers! I hope everyone's feeling alright, I know it can be a bit scary finding yourself in a strange new place like this, but if you need any help or a friendly shoulder to cry on or just a good old cup of ceylon tea with some cake, then my name is Milly Thompson and I would be very happy to help in anyway that I can.
stungunning: (this needs some serious consideration)
[Action]
[Here we have one Milly Thompson hanging up a load of freshly laundered clothes, which are all a very lovely shade of pink.

Privately she is wondering when and where Mr. Vash and Mr. Priest started liking and buying pink shirts, but they're a lovely delicate colour and she's sure they'll look really nice in them. After all, it takes a real man to wear pink, that's what her Little Big Sister always said.

...that's funny, she was sure that at least some of the shirts she put into the laundry were white...

...and that dress that she wore when she arrived was definitely white...

And those red panties were-

Oh.

Well how in the heck did they get there? And whose are they? She's never owned a pair of red panties in her life! And Meryl's much too practical to buy red panties.

This is a mystery.

...Oh well, no time to worry about that now, she has a mission!]

Hello everybody!

[She smiles and waves at the camera, the pink laundry blowing in the breeze behind her.]

My name is Milly Thompson and it's very nice to be here and to get the chance to meet all of you, even if I haven't said hello to everyone in person yet. So hello!

I was wondering if anybody had any odd jobs that needed doing. I'm a very hard worker and pretty strong, and my friend Meryl says that I need to find something to do with my time otherwise I'm going to end up getting into trouble and she'll have to fix it, and because she says she's been getting lots of headaches I want to do absolutely everything I can to put her mind at rest.

[And then she looks at her hands and lets out a nervous little laugh.]

And, um... if anyone's somehow missing their delicates... I might have found them.
stungunning: (Hmm?)
[There's the sound of some background noise; birds tweeting, shrubbery being trodden underfoot, but above all that there's the sound of someone- a woman- humming cheerfully.]

Oh my goodness, I don’t think I’ve ever seen this many plants before except in picture books! And isn’t it a lovely day? I’ve never had a dream before where I got to be in a forest, but if it means that I get to see lovely trees and animals like this then I don’t think I mind it at all!

[Some more happy humming can be heard, and footsteps through the undergrowth.]

My back’s all itchy. That’s funny, I don’t usually get an itchy back when I dream. Oh no, I’m not allergic to trees am I? That would be just awful! Magic Book, could you tell me if I’m allergic to trees?

[…]

Silly old Milly, of course the book isn’t going to tell you that, books can’t talk!

…I wonder if there’s a pudding tree? All my very best dreams have pudding somewhere, so it really doesn’t make a lot of sense if there isn’t a pudding tree…

[More humming, someone sure sounds cheerful. Then she stops.]

…I think I’m lost.
