[Milly is... positively elephantine in size, everything aches, she gets exhausted after the very slightest bit of exercise and it seems as though she has a bladder the size of a walnut that her baby finds incredibly comfy because she just cannot get comfortable without having to get up and use the bathroom two minutes later. And that is without all the false alarms and Braxton Hicks contractions she's been suffering for the last week. At the back of her mind, she's grateful that it's not been for very long at all, but even so she's uncomfortable and impatiently excited to meet her daughter or son and finally see her feet again.

And the house just cannot be clean enough for her tastes. Milly is cleaning like a woman on a mission. In between checking and double checking the nursery, trying to knit booties- and failing- and napping, she's going crazy with a feather duster and vacuum. Watch out, Trigun house.

She is on her hands and knees scrubbing the skirting boards... question is: will she ever be able to get up again?]

Alright! Spicy food hasn't worked, long walks haven't worked, and jumping up and down is really really uncomfortable so I don't want to try that unless I absolutely have to, but I'm beginning to go crazy waiting and there's only so much cleaning I can do before I need to take a nap.

I don't suppose any mothers out there know any sure fire ways to get a baby coming? Because I'm just about ready to have mine now and Muffin is showing no signs of moving at all. I'm at my wits' end!

I know, and I don't want to do anything that's dangerous or could hurt my baby but I'm just very ready to have them here and they're just taking their sweet time getting a move on.

It takes patience. Three months is considerably a shorter time span than nine. Are you even prepared to handle it, in this place? If you know you're even remotely close to the time, you might want to consider waiting it out in the clinic.

Oh I can't go to the clinic now, I thought that I was ready and everything was perfect but then I realised that the house is just filthy! I've got so much cleaning and tidying to do, and I don't want to be a bother to doctor Law and the nice people at the clinic until it's time to go.

[Voice]

If you put off going, then you might not have time to make it to the clinic.

[Voice]

I'm not even in labour yet though. Not a single real twinge; once I start having contractions and they get to be often enough, then we'll get going.

[Voice]

All right, but it can be a very sudden thing when it does happen. Just be cautious.

Oh I will be! My bag is already packed and by the front door, the baby's bed is made up and ready for sleeping and Doctor Law says the clinic's ready and waiting.

All we need now is for the baby to get moving.

Well, I suppose you can hardly be more prepared than that.

I've never been all that good at waiting, especially if it's something that I'm really looking forward to. Getting everything organised helped take my mind off it.

Well, even so. Find other ways to spend your time. Why not read a book, relax, or find some sort of craft to keep yourself busy with? If you get engrossed with that and don't focus your attention so much on wanting the baby out, it'll just sneak up on you.

Well I have been trying to knit, but that's not been going very well. Besides, I need to get the whole place looking spic and span, I can't bring a new baby home to a dirty house and who knows when I'll find the time to clean after the birth.
