Jul. 10th, 2012 06:52 am-can you smile for Momma? Can you? Oh that's a beautiful smile, now hold it-
[You are being treated to a quick snap of baby Noah Wolfwood, now eight weeks old, smiling at the camera and looking generally adorable with his little tufts of jet black hair and big blue eyes. The sound of the baby cooing happily can also be easily heard, as can the sound of him being kissed noisily by his doting mother.]
I just can't believe he's already eight weeks old, it seems to have gone by so fast which is funny when I haven't slept through an awful lot of it but that's all changing now because Mr. Noah here is finally learning that Momma and Daddy need to sleep at night too so they can play with him properly, aren't you bubba? And he's getting so big! he can't fit into any of the things he had when we first brought him home, it's a shame really because a lot of them were awfully cute, but we just have to go out and get him more and hope he doesn't grow out of them too fast.
[Yet more kissing and happy cooing.]
Anyway! It looks like there's an awful lot of New Feathers arriving again so I just wanted to say hello and welcome to Luceti, and I hope you won't be too upset about being here. I know it's a terrible shock to arrive here all alone and with wings of all things, and a lot of strange and sometimes scary things can happen, but there are also a lot of very good things and wonderful, kind people here, so please don't be afraid to make the best of it.
Action
[Milly and Noah are going to be out and about shopping with the pram, stop and say hi... and be prepared to have your ear talked off because Milly's just about the proudest and most talkative new mother you'll ever meet.]

It's summer, we usually get heatwaves in here. Letting him lay on just his diapers when he's on his play mat doesn't seem like a bad idea to me. Too much warmth will make him cranky. And a weakling unable to endure even a cold breeze.

Date: 2012-07-10 01:14 pm (UTC)For your information, I grew up on a desert planet where we had weather that was a lot hotter than the weather we get here in Luceti, and as you can see my baby is perfectly happy and content and I am well aware of things like overheating and getting too cold. I'm his mother and I think I know what's best for him, and that includes when and what I am going to dress him in thank you very much.

Date: 2012-07-10 03:19 pm (UTC)No clue who he is. I've never met him.
[voice/private]
Date: 2012-07-10 03:31 pm (UTC)He's awfully rude, I don't think I like his attitude one little bit. Fancy saying that putting clothes on a baby will make him into a weakling!
Re: [voice/private]
Date: 2012-07-10 03:51 pm (UTC)Then again, maybe the preacherman will surprise her.]
He's an idiot.

Date: 2012-07-11 01:12 am (UTC)[Notice how she's making absolutely no effort to put down the idea of Wolfwood taking action.]

Date: 2012-07-11 05:22 am (UTC)[At least in Amelia's mind. And yeah, she'll notice. Notice how she doesn't say anything after that first time.
No, no one will mind if Wolfwood wants to go proud papa on his ass.]

Date: 2012-07-11 06:02 am (UTC)You know, you make a wonderful protective auntie, Amelia.
Re: [voice/private]
Date: 2012-07-11 10:37 pm (UTC)Wh-what? Well...it's your fault! You and Wolfwood made me hold the kid!
[Because yes, that is the entire reason why Amelia is going to look out for her nephew. Absolutely.]
Re: [voice/private]
Date: 2012-07-12 09:02 am (UTC)Noah sweetie, can you say 'hi' to Auntie Amelia?
[Nope! But that sure is some gurgling.]
Re: [voice/private]
Date: 2012-07-12 05:46 pm (UTC)It's been half her life since she had one of those.]
...Yeah, I guess it is.
[D'aw. Amelia smiles and waves at the book, completely forgetting her camera isn't actually turned on.]
Hey Noah.

Date: 2012-07-10 06:09 pm (UTC)I don't remember saying that you were an idiot, if you feel offended that's your problem.
I don't have any children of my own, but I had to take care and raise a baby without any help and without any money to buy him tons of pretty clothes and whatever. I had to have him bundled up in sheets and diapers because I didn't have anything else to put on him even when we were in the middle of winter with snow blocking my way. And you know what? He grew up fine even if I couldn't always dress him up properly, he's one of the best men one could find and a perfectly healthy person
Whatever, one thing is sure, that child isn't going to have a weak character with a mother like you. He's fortunate.

Date: 2012-07-11 06:16 am (UTC)Just because someone doesn't melt into a string of "how adorable he is" doesn't mean they don't think so or that they think you're a terrible mother. And as far as I know it's not as if I'm ordering you what to put on your child either, we just don't agree on the importance about full clothes. So no, I'm not going to be "ashamed" for having my own opinion, just as you won't be ashamed for having yours.
[Voice]
Date: 2012-07-12 09:12 am (UTC)So thank you for your opinion, but I am going to disagree and keep my baby clothed and fed and happy and do the very best that I can for him, and you can do what you like with your babies if you ever have any more.
Good day.
[Voice] Just cause this thread needed ALL the Trigun-ers!
Date: 2012-07-12 05:03 pm (UTC)[Nope. Totally not bothering to make this private. Mostly because Vash is also pissed at Ikki and kinda wants to punch him in the face.]

Date: 2012-07-11 07:05 am (UTC)[Sigh, Luceti. Why do you have the occasional buttface around here to bother him and his family.]

Date: 2012-07-11 12:00 pm (UTC)Next time you want to sound like an ass on a public entry, just skip over it.
[Glad we had this talk, cool.
Closing the journal now for some good ol' fashioned smoking.]
