[When Vash and Milly had offered him a place to stay, he had been unsure of intruding. But... well, they seemed pretty nice, and Vash was little Vash—man, that would take some getting used to. When it's nighttime he finally enters the bedroom and sits down on the edge, cross left in the corner.]

You guys have a really big house. Bigger than a lot of the ones back home.

[Milly is turning down the bed for him having already made it up with nice clean sheets. She's managed to find some pajamas for him too, and they're folded neatly at the foot of the bed ready for him.]

It is, isn't it? We're still getting used to it, it's a very nice house to live in. Now do you want me to get you some hot milk to help you sleep? Have you brushed your teeth or- oh! Would you like to have a bath before you sleep? It's a nice way to help you relax, and then you can climb into bed and be all clean and comfy.

Well alright then, you get into your pajamas and I'll go and get you some nice hot milk. Make sure you brush your teeth before you get into bed, okay?

[And now she's derping off to the kitchen to get you some milk (don't you go ignoring her orders to brush your teeth young man or she'll be cross >:[ ) and she comes back up not long after with a blue mug full of milk.]

Are you ready for bed?

[He flusters a bit, turning just enough to reclaim his pride card.]

What's the point of pajamas, anyway? Sleeping in whatever you're wearing seems fine to me...

[She smiles kindly, walking over to the bed to put the milk down on the nightstand.]

Oh goodness, I know it doesn't seem like there's much point to putting on pajamas for bed, but don't you think it's so much nicer to get into something that's all soft and warm and that you've not been wearing all day? I always think that putting on a clean pair of pajamas and getting into a bed with clean sheets is one of the nicest feelings in the world.

[Fluffs up a pillow for him.]

I'm sorry if I'm fussing. I just haven't had anyone your age to fuss over for quite a long time; my oldest nephew's about your age now, he hates it when I fuss over him too, but you see that's what grown ups in my family do. We look after everyone who's littler than us.

Well then you don't know what you're missing! I'll make a deal with you; you try sleeping in pajamas tonight and then if you don't like them you can sleep in your normal clothes, does that sounds like a good idea to you?

[She sits down at the edge of the bed, smiling.]

I have a very big family; I've got nieces and nephews and cousins and a whole heap of big brothers and sisters, and I grew up in a big noisy house surrounded by people. I was the baby, you know. What about you, do you have any brothers and sisters?

[It's not something she's ever asked him; Wolfwood tends to clam up when she asks him about his past and she hopes that when he's big again she won't mind that she asked him this.]

Well she suspected as much, if she's honest, but hearing her fears confirmed certainly makes her heart go out to him. She can't imagine what it must be like growing up without a big noisy family around, and doting relatives at birthdays and Christmases and loud family parties. Poor Mr. Priest.]

Don't worry about it. Didn't need much of a family, anyway. The last guy who tried to raise me did a shitty job, so I like it better being alone.

Well... I had some people I knew when I was living on the street, but we weren't real close. I don't really have time for that anymore, because I'm training...

But what do you do when you're not training? You don't have anybody to play with or to have fun with?

No... Nothing like that...

I like working a lot, so I never really went out to play with any of the kids.

I guess so. I liked learning how to do new things I didn't do before. And when I get better, I'm happy, so... I like it okay. [WHAT A SHITTY ANSWER. :^|]
