[There's the sound of some background noise; birds tweeting, shrubbery being trodden underfoot, but above all that there's the sound of someone- a woman- humming cheerfully.]

Oh my goodness, I don’t think I’ve ever seen this many plants before except in picture books! And isn’t it a lovely day? I’ve never had a dream before where I got to be in a forest, but if it means that I get to see lovely trees and animals like this then I don’t think I mind it at all!

[Some more happy humming can be heard, and footsteps through the undergrowth.]

My back’s all itchy. That’s funny, I don’t usually get an itchy back when I dream. Oh no, I’m not allergic to trees am I? That would be just awful! Magic Book, could you tell me if I’m allergic to trees?

[…]

Silly old Milly, of course the book isn’t going to tell you that, books can’t talk!

…I wonder if there’s a pudding tree? All my very best dreams have pudding somewhere, so it really doesn’t make a lot of sense if there isn’t a pudding tree…

[More humming, someone sure sounds cheerful. Then she stops.]

…I think I’m lost.

[She stops walking for a moment.]

Oh.

[The look on her face right now could be best described as 'kicked puppy']

[His shoulders sag at the face. So she's pretty aware of just how awful Legato and Knives are. And then he nods, a quiet confirmation.]

They're missing right now, but your journal'll get to be locked so they don't notice you've shown up yet; they haven't done much, but we have to keep our guard up, alright?

But I don't understand, I thought Mr. Vash k-

[Gosh that still feels absolutely horrible and wrong to say.]

I mean... I thought Mr. Vash stopped him. And he was looking for his brother too...

This place doesn't make an awful lot of sense, does it?

[He smiles sympathetically.]

No, it really doesn't.

[And then he focuses on the cool road ahead.]

We're almost there; just a little further.

[She follows him quietly for a bit, unable to really take her eyes off him.]

[And then her feet stop moving for a moment, and she just stands stock still in the road.]

This really isn't a dream, is it? I'm not going to wake up and find out this is all pretend, am I?

[He keeps walking for a moment, and then pauses a few feet ahead of her, head turned and hands casually in his pockets. The smile that crosses his features is a usual Wolfwood smile: the kind that has a lot of thoughts drifting around behind it.]

Should I pinch you again?

[She studies his face for a moment and shakes her head.]

No, I'm alright. I just didn't-

[And she smiles.]

I'm just happy to see you, I didn't think I was ever going to see you again.

[Something about that makes him relax a little more than before. He's not sure why... but he feels like this is all okay, for a moment.]

... I didn't think I'd see you again, either.

But this place has it's bright sides, right?

[Quietly, he extends a hand to her. Shall we walk, big girl?]

Mm. Right.

[She nods and takes a step towards him to take his hand without another thought about it.]
