1 [accidental voice post eventually filtered by Wolfwood from Knives, Legato and Yuber]
[There's the sound of some background noise; birds tweeting, shrubbery being trodden underfoot, but above all that there's the sound of someone- a woman- humming cheerfully.]
Oh my goodness, I don’t think I’ve ever seen this many plants before except in picture books! And isn’t it a lovely day? I’ve never had a dream before where I got to be in a forest, but if it means that I get to see lovely trees and animals like this then I don’t think I mind it at all!
[Some more happy humming can be heard, and footsteps through the undergrowth.]
My back’s all itchy. That’s funny, I don’t usually get an itchy back when I dream. Oh no, I’m not allergic to trees am I? That would be just awful! Magic Book, could you tell me if I’m allergic to trees?
[…]
Silly old Milly, of course the book isn’t going to tell you that, books can’t talk!
…I wonder if there’s a pudding tree? All my very best dreams have pudding somewhere, so it really doesn’t make a lot of sense if there isn’t a pudding tree…
[More humming, someone sure sounds cheerful. Then she stops.]
…I think I’m lost.

[Voice] Oh you. |D
No, just tons and tons of really huge trees...
[Written] |D
Is there a river nearby? Or the sound of one?
[Voice] |D
Um...
[Pauuuuuuuuse some more...]
Yes! I can hear water.
[Written]
[A tiny, tiny little smile, as he pauses for a moment.]
The book says so.
[Voice]
[After all she can't see where it keeps its brain.]
[...]
[Oh well.]
Well alright then Mr. Book. You are a Mister, aren't you?
[Written]
Sure am. All good dreams need a dream book, you know.
[Voice]
[There is a splash, and a little Milly noise of surprise.]
Oh!
[Written]
He listens for a moment to make sure he can still here some semblance of The Milly, as the sound of the stream grows louder on his end. She's gotta be somewhere about here... but where, is a good question. This damn thing goes far enough to both directions... :|a
If you catch cold, he'll be a very unhappy camper, missy.]
Something wrong?
[Voice]
Oh no, I just wasn't looking where I was going and I found a puddle and I don't have any shoes.
[Wri—Action]
You should really look where y
[He pauses writing, just as he hits the clearing and notes the faint sound ahead. And he looks up with pen and journal in hand, expecting a few more trees and brush to hinder his path, instead seeing Milly in the distance, at the river.
...
oh.]
[Voice -- Action]
[She steps out of the puddle and bends down to pick a wet leaf off her foot, then she looks at the book thoughtfully.]
Hello, Mr. Book? Are you still there?
[Action]
[Right, he should probably. Start over there. So he makes himself move, quietly wondering how to go about this. Break the news gently, that idiot needle-noggin says.
He folds the journal and tucks it in his belt, calling out as he moves toward her:]
Hey there, big girl. I was wondering where you'd gotten yourself to.
[Not as casually as if it were Gunsmoke, but it really did bring the desert back into his mind. And everything that it stood for.]
[Action]
[Oh.]
[She turns around and sees him walking towards her, and she smiles, lifting her arm to wave to him.]
I know this isn't usually where we meet when we talk in my dreams Mr. Priest, but this isn't my usual sort of dream.
[Her voice catches a little, because it still hurts to see him in her dreams and know that he's not going to be there when she wakes up.]
[She looks at her muddy feet, then tugs self consciously at the skirt of her dress.]
And I don't usually wear dresses either.
Re: [Action]
[How do I even]
...
[He looks her up and down, as if it will help him along in what he's trying to say; instead he just smiles a little.]
Well, that's a shame; you look pretty nice in them, I'd say.
[Action]
[Maybe she's forgetting him wrong, and that would be just awful.]
Oh no, my shoulders are much too broad for sundresses, they don't suit me at all.
[Oh look! A conveniently placed log! How clever of her to dream that.]
[She goes and sits on it, patting the space beside her.]
Aren't you going to ask me about what happened today? I have a lot of very important things to tell you.
Re: [Action]
How many times has she dreamt about these things...
Aren't you going to ask me
His face softens into a troubled, unsure look.]
I—
There's a lot of important things I have to tell you first.
Re: [Action]
[She puts her book aside and puts her hands on her knees, gripping the fabric of the dress until it wrinkles.]
Mr. Vash has gone off to fight his brother, and Meryl needs me to be strong, and if I didn't get to see you in my dreams then I don't think I can be. You understand, right?
Re: [Action] 1/2
What kind of man hurts the people he loves so much? The thought's unthinkable, to make you have to say something like this—]
Re: [Action]
... You're not dreaming, Milly.
Re: [Action]
I knew you'd say that too.
Re: [Action]
[... He crouches down, arms on his knees, and looks her in the eye for a moment. And then reaches over to her arm...
And pinches it sharply.]
Re: [Action] 1/idk
Re: [Action]
Re: [Action] 3/6? I think?
[And it really hurt too.]
